Plankton Art Company started in 1999 as an illustration and graphic design studio. Since then, the scope of our projects has widened, including animation and publishing. We've worked for individuals, small businesses, corporations, non-profit organizations, and museums. We've designed snowboards, book covers, bus wraps, bike helmets, and silk handkerchiefs. Our work has been shown in numerous venues, like Print, 3x3, Jonathan LeVine Gallery, and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
Susan Crawford's bold, graphic digital illustrations are retro-flavored, but modern. Her stylized, graceful forms are largely inspired by nature and mid-century modernism. All of Susan's illustrations start as hand-rendered sketches. Her light, playful style lends itself well to just about any project: children's books, custom lettering, toys and games, advertising, lifestyle products, caricatures, and logos.
